Goddamn it.

I came home today to find everything on my balcony moved around and one of my window boxes upside down on the ground, the chives totally squished, and the floor torn up. They've been doing work on my building for a couple of weeks now, which was annoying to begin with because they didn't warn us that there would be guys with jackhammers all over the place making a ton of noise for goodness knows how long. But I had no idea that they were going to be moving to my balcony--if I had known, I would have moved my plants myself, and then they would be safe. Not squished.

When I came home and saw my things moved I immediately thought that someone had climbed up and gotten into my apartment, and that I had been robbed, but when I saw all of my stuff still there I realized it was the guys with jackhammers. Which is when I saw my plants. I'm so angry at my building manager for not warning anyone about any of this. Fortunately, it's pretty hard to kill chives, and everything else looks ok. If they damage my tomato plants, I will cut them.

Yeah we had that too. Some guys came to clean something. The result was that they ripped out 75% of the wineplans, which were around the wall and grates of the balcony. It looked so beautiful in summer with those plants. Now only concrete and metal is left, because the plants died of course. :(

Hurray For Plants!

I like plants...
esp. trees.

I used to talk to trees a lot,
but then I realised that was "weird",
but then I learnt that these super-strong Chi Kung guys have all these "embracing the tree" type meditations and rituals and stuff,
and then I read about building friendships with tress in this Chi Nei Tsuang book,
and then I was like

"gee, all I had to to was act like I was chinese,
and I'd been making a killing off of a book series on tree-talking"

but then, you know, youtube was invented and everyone stopped reading,
but a few dorks, nerds, and geeks (me being a geek),

Yeah, I still like plants.
