So my family is officially officially moving to North Carolina in June. My father will even have a -real job- with -benefits-, so bully for him.

My dad, in case you were wondering, occiasionally looks like Stephen King.

This presents an interesting holiday-related problem for me. You see, my mother doesn't celebrate things, but the plan was that I would come to town to spend a holiday with the rest of my non-Jehovah's witness family and see her at the same time. Now, I'm obligated to spend holidays in North Carolina if I leave Seattle at all for them, which means I have to take a -special- trip back to Florida. And that sucks.

Yesterday at the waterfront, Jeff and I ran into a man who pointed at Mt. Rainier (which is, let me remind you, a volcano) and said "It's a very nice snow-tipped peak." He had a very thick accent and I got the feeling that he'd been practicing that phrase from a guidebook all day and was saying it to whomever he could find.
