Sweet Freaking Jesus. Do you know what's playing at SIFF this year? A movie about the Dandy Warhols (and the Brian Jonestown Massacre, also occasionally brilliant.) I've been waiting for such an event off and on and sometimes impatiently, for -the last 10 years-. And do you know when the stupid thing is playing? The only stupid weekend out of the whole stupid year that people are coming to visit. "Uh, guys, I know you want to see Seattle, but can we go watch this movie instead?"

but lucky for you, it's coming out in the fall, nationwide, and then if that goes well, a dvd will be released with much more footage. the director, ondi timoner, was at the screening and she said they were going to have a feature on the dvd where you can listen to commentary by anton newcombe (bjm), and many others. far out!

I suppose that somewhere in my bitter, jealous heart I'm glad that it was at least good. But fall is so far away!
