I almost got blown up today.

Ok, well no, not really, but it could have been.

See, at about 1:30 the Operations Manager (Serena, to those in the know) came by and said they'd had a bomb threat. Only not a big scary one. Someone had found a piece of paper down at Crane's that said 'a bomb will go off at 3:00. This is not a joke.' And on the other side it said 'ok, it is a joke' with a smiley face underneath. They weren't closing the center, but we could leave from 2:30 to 3:30 if we felt threatened.

Well. I'm pretty cavalier about bomb threats. We had them about once a month when I was in high school, and I've noticed that the really bad things don't send notes annoucing their arrival.

But then the people at William Sonoma said that the note had been faxed in. Faxing changes things. That's a bit more premeditated, a bit scarier.

Of course, the original story was true, and I'm a trooper and didn't leave. I could have (and probably should have); half the mall left. And I'm not blown up. But I think I deserve a cookie or a sandwich for my good deed.

A bomb is a personal organizer that has a mind of its own, has adverts on the side and emits heat.

Whoa... I almost went down to Pacific Place today... then it rained and I decided to go have lunch instead. Weird.
