I'm mid magically delicious salami-and-cheese sandwich (mmmmm, sandwich...), and it's making me remember that my friend Jason in high school always smelled like salami. No one could figure out why, but man, did people's dogs love him.

So last night was my first blogger meetup, and it was almost entirely full of people that I don't know. (TYD has a full list of attendees.) That wasn't so cool--I'm no good at rooms full of unfamiliar people--but later there was bowling, so life was good again. It still occasionally astounds me that there are fabulous people in Seattle that I get to hang out with. I'm just not used to having friends in this city yet.

Yesterday, after my massage and adjustment and all around happy time, I went down to the closing FAO Schwartz. It was very post-apocalyptic island of the lost toys feeling, and wholly depressing. But one of the positive things about being 5 feet tall is that you can fit into kids clothes, so I scored a watermelon scented t-shirt for cheap. I feel a bit dirty, though; buying things from a dead toy store.

Then I got to hang out with Jeff, which I never get to spend enough time doing. There was a seal at the waterfront, which was almost unhealthily exciting. We got food down at some, uh, place by the market, and were sitting at the counter looking out the windows when Jeff made a noise. I looked in the direction he was looking and there was a man, passed out in the middle of the street. It had obviously only just happened because a crowd was beginning to form, but form it did. He didn't appear to be moving (or, indeed, alive), so the bystanders picked him up and carried him to the sidewalk. Jeff has more presence of mind than I do so he called 911 while I tried detect any sign of movement from half a block away. Everything eventually had a happy ending, though, as he eventually sat up, lay back down, and went away in an ambulance.
