In case you were wondering, Ghostbusters at the cinerama was -so freaking cool-. (For everyone outside of Seattle, the Cinerama screen is big big big.) I'd never seen it on a big screen, or in fact on any screen bigger than about a 20-inch tv, which is even smaller than my current one (I think). You must all remember that I was knee high to a grasshopper when it came out, and still small enough for bug comparisons by the second one.
As an aside, the first movie I remember seeing in the theatre is The Bear which was, oddly, from France.
Anyway, the vibe in the theatre was pretty cool; you could tell that most everyone had seen it a million times before. Everyone clapped at the end, hugged each other, and had a drink. Well, or something close.
Oddly, I always think that it's Dan Ackroyd and not Jim Belushi that is dead. So whenever I see Dan Ackroyd in a movie I get a little sad until I remember that, oh yeah, it's not him.
While I'm on the topic of movies, I have to let you all know that we saw Monsieur Ibrahim Friday night, and it was very good although not as good as I'd hoped it would be. But Omar Sharif is such a -star-.
