(no subject)
Mar. 13th, 2005 06:36 pmThe weekend is nearly over, and lordy am I tired.
After my usual Friday routine of drinking too much with Steph and Ryan I came home and started to go to bed. But my phone rang, and the upshot of some stuff that you don't want to hear about is that I had an unexpected late night visitor.
Once he left the next morning it was time to prepare for my wedding. ("Is your new husband going to mind us, you know, fooling around?") I headed to Cat's to find her and Dorothy already dressed in their bridal finery. I hopped into my astonishingly cool dress and we got on the bus.
I really do enjoy being a spectacle now and again.
We made it downtown and met up with some more brides. Many strange people approached, and we were the subject of many pictures. Because everyone else likes a spectacle too. After a quick stop in Nordstrom's we headed to DragonFish for happy hour (dude, why don't I go to DragonFish for happy hour every day?) and then we headed down to REI for the main event.
I was a little surprised by how in stride the folks at REI took it when we walked up and said that we were supporting a person's right to marry an inanimate object, and could we marry their climbing wall? And they said yes. A man asked us if we were marrying because, uh, life's rocky and...? But Cat said no, we were marrying it because it was big and hard. 'Cause, you know, duh.
When I got home there was a wedding gift under my doormat, because Steph and Ryan are the coolest people in the state.
So! I went home and changed out of my gown because I was going out to dinner with Michael and two of his friends. We went out for Moroccan (holy shit was that some amazing food), ate with our hands, and then went to Fremont to meet up with someone that Jackie knew. This club, it had a huge line outside, and so we were debating whether we wanted to wait for it or not and someone joked about how we could probably fit through the bars of the gate. And we could! Which was awesome, until we got kicked out. Oops.
More drinking happened somewhere else, and then we headed back to the hill to drink some tasty, tasty port. And then we went back to Michael's.
I came home this morning and immediately went back to bed. Fucking wiped out, man. The weather today was lovely and I had my sliding glass door open, but I stayed in and watched movies.
I love watching movies set in Seattle because they're all filmed in Vancouver.
