The Helio Sequence show at Chop Suey last night provided me with a whole stable full of pretend boyfriends, first among which is the keyboard player for Mercer. Steph was on the prowl-for-me, but I couldn't narrow down my options.
We scored about 50% in our game of 'queer or straight.' Man do I love hipsters and their sexual ambiguity.
Dear boy that looked just like Michael,
I swear I didn't really want to kick you in the knees. But the person whose knees I wanted to kick wasn't there.

But seriously, folks (wocka wocka), if you get a chance to see Helio Sequence before they get all famous, I'd recommend jumping at the chance because I predict packed shows at the Showbox before too long. They were so amazing. I have never seen such a joyful drummer in my whole life before. I believe that you can tell it's a good show when people in Seattle dance at it, and this crowd was breaking it down like nobody's business.
I mean, come on--homeboy even brought out a harmonica.

Holy geez is it raining out there.

Tonight is first Thursday, and Caroline's studio will be open for a show. Anyone wanna meet me down in Pioneer Square?

Dear Flagler College,

I have just received your most recent alumni donation letter. And I must tell you that although I appreciate the education that you have given me--and, moreover, the friends that I made at your fine institution--I feel obligated to tell you that I can think of literally millions of people who deserve my $38 more than your students (who, let's face it, are as a rule useless ponces).
There are millions of people all over the world who do not have mommy and daddy to pay for food and shelter, let alone a useless liberal arts education. I could give my $38 to them. Right here in the lovely city of Seattle there are dozens of nonprofit organizations that exist solely to help anyone who might need it. I could give my $38 to them. If I wanted to help along my home state of Florida, I could give to charities all over the state, including several in your lovely city of St. Augustine.
I will not be giving you my money, because you are a big private institution and neither need nor deserve it. It doesn't matter, because plenty of my fellow alumni would love nothing more than to give to your cause rather than to another. We all have to support someone.

Sincerely,
me
