In the department of weird fucking coincidences, I spent a couple of hours on the phone with Nate last night, of all people. Because life really isn't complete without reappearing high school boyfriends.

I have to say, I love how our alumni association sends out a donor booklet, as though they're saying, "yes, we know that there's lots of death and destruction in the world, and that there are so many people that are suffering. And ok, so we're a private institution attended mostly by middle and upper-middle class kids. But look at all the people we suckered into giving us money!"
