(no subject)

As of four minutes ago, it officially became illegal in the whole state of Washington (rather than just Seattle and Tacoma) to discriminate for jobs, financial transactions, etc. on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. (This is pending the governor's approval, but I can't imagine Gregoire is gonna say no.)
That makes seventeen states where now and again lawmakers can see sense. I've been watching the session all morning, eschewing work in favor of edge-of-my-seat politics.
