If anyone was wondering what the sexiest thing I've lusted after lately is, it's the DVD version of Downtown 81. Basquiat was just sexy, and the other movie about him is just terrible...although David Bowie as Andy Warhol has it upsides. The fact that the only reason Downtown 81 still exists was because they locked the master negative away and forgot about it for 12 years is equally sexy. I want it. Yes, the fact that I don't own a DVD player may prove to be an obstacle, but it's worth the challenge. Basquiat as...Basquiat! What a concept.

Also sexy is the lead singer of Sonichrome, a band that hasn't put out an album in, oh, 5 years or so.

I'm so underground, I must be cool.

Harry Potter was, might I point out, awesome. His whole triumphing over evil never really translates well into film, though, because it's so much inner conflict. Totally worth the trouble of going on opening night.

In a few weeks, I will have my very own christmas tree in my very own house.

I enjoy Halle Berry's top on the cover of this month's Cosmo...even if it is Ralph Lauren. It looks like someone wrapped a big bit of ribbon around and around her, and that's just fun.

I have a date with Tennessee Williams and Sylvia Plath this week. Let's hope they behave themselves.
