Riding on the train
Feb. 1st, 2004 03:21 pmSo here's a news bite for you, kids: my car got broken into. This was probably helped by the fact that I likely forgot to lock the doors after I went to the grocery store last weekend. The positive thing about driving a car as crappy as mine is that even when people break into it (er, open the doors) they don't want to steal it. There wasn't anything to take except my stereo, and they somehow overlooked the fact that the faceplate was in the glove compartment that they dumped out onto the floor. Of course, they would have been unpleasantly surprised to get it home and find out that it barely works anyway. The contents of my car include such highlights as: a stuffed monkey, a blanket, directions for a cross-country trip going this way, and a flashlight. There may have been about $0.15 in the cup holder that they ran off with, but they can keep it. There's likely a moral here, but I'm not sure what it is. I might not have even noticed for another week or so; I don't drive it much because it hasn't any heat.
So. That was my brush with crime for the week.
Last night was John's birthday party, which culminated in the bunch of us bowling for money. I made $4, so yay for me.
