She tried a little tea and sympathy
Feb. 24th, 2004 07:15 pmI am amazed at the amount of noise that comes out of Maytag (who is theoretically a canary although he's not even a little bit yellow). You can practically hear him from outer space.
(Aside: if any of you were wanting to come sit on my furniture saturday at 8, my address is 1909 Franklin Ave. E. #102.)
There's a spider that's been living on my balcony for some amount of months now; I've named him Elmer. He started out at the left end of the balcony and has moved down to the center, and I have to wonder what this sort of moving means in the spider world. Is he, you know, movin on up?
Stopped at a crosswalk on my way to the bus tonight, I was standing next to a little girl and her mother. The little girl was wearing a shiny dalmation spotted raincoat with black ears on the hood that would lift up into the air whenever the wind blew. While we were standing there, she looked up at the sky that was the color I'm always threatening to tattoo my foot. "I don't see any stars," she said. "Neither do I," said her mom, "it's not dark enough yet." "But...all I can see is the -moon-."
She was awful cute.
